Get Milk to Meat on your iPhone
It’s free. You do not need the App Store.
First, add the app
- Open Safari — the app with the blue compass icon. If someone sent you a link, you can leave that message and open Safari yourself.
- Tap Safari’s address bar, type milktomeatdiscipleship.com, then tap Go.
- Open Safari’s sharing menu.
If you see Share (a square with an upward arrow), tap it.
If you see More or the page menu instead, tap that button first, then tap Share.
- Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen. If it is missing, scroll to the bottom, tap Edit Actions, and add it.
- If you see Open as Web App, make sure it is ON. Leave the name as Milk to Meat, then tap Add.
- Go back to your iPhone’s Home Screen. Find the new Milk to Meat picture icon and tap it. This opens your installed app.
Then, turn on notifications
- Inside the new app, tap the three-line menu, then Notifications.
- Choose the updates you want. Tap Enable notifications, then tap Allow when your iPhone asks.
- Tap Send me a test alert. When it arrives, notifications are working on this iPhone.
Quick check: The installed app opens without Safari’s address bar. If you still see the address bar, return to your Home Screen and tap the new Milk to Meat icon.
Need help?
Only seeing an “M” icon? If it opens a Safari tab, remove that old shortcut and repeat the steps above. Keep an existing app that already opens correctly and receives alerts.
Can’t enable notifications? Open the app from its Home Screen icon first. Notifications require iOS 16.4 or later. If you previously tapped Don’t Allow, open your iPhone’s Settings → Notifications → Milk to Meat and turn on Allow Notifications, then return to the app. Device restrictions may also prevent alerts.
Install on iPad
- Open Safari on the iPad and enter milktomeatdiscipleship.com directly. A shared-link preview inside another app is not the installed Milk to Meat app.
- Tap Safari’s Share button (square with an upward arrow), usually near the address bar. Tap View More or More if shown.
- Choose Add to Home Screen.
- Turn Open as Web App on if that switch appears. Check for the Milk to Meat artwork, then tap Add.
- Leave Safari. Open the new Milk to Meat icon from the iPad Home Screen. It should open in its own app window without Safari’s address bar.
- In that app, visit Notifications, choose your categories, tap Enable notifications, then Allow. Tap Send me a test alert.
Notifications need iPadOS 16.4 or later and an installed Home Screen app. If the iPad is older or managed by a school or organization, its software or restrictions may prevent installation or alerts.
Apple’s iPad app directions ↗Install on an Android phone
- Open Google Chrome and go to milktomeatdiscipleship.com. Open shared links in Chrome rather than an in-app preview.
- Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) near the address bar.
- Choose Install and create shortcut → Install, Install app, or Add to Home screen → Install, depending on Chrome’s version. Select Install when offered.
- Confirm, then open Milk to Meat from the new icon on your Home Screen or in your app list.
- Visit Notifications, choose your updates, tap Enable notifications and Allow, then Send me a test alert.
If Chrome only offers a shortcut, update Chrome and try again. Some devices or managed settings may limit installation. Alerts also depend on device notification permissions.
Google’s Android app directions ↗Install on an Android tablet
- Open Google Chrome on the tablet. Go directly to milktomeatdiscipleship.com, outside any Facebook, email, or shared-link preview.
- Tap Chrome’s three-dot menu (⋮), usually at the top right.
- Choose Install and create shortcut → Install, Install app, or Add to Home screen → Install. Confirm the installation.
- Open the new Milk to Meat icon from the tablet’s Home Screen or app list. An installed app should open in its own window without Chrome’s normal address bar.
- Open Notifications, select your updates, tap Enable notifications and Allow. Tap Send me a test alert.
Use an up-to-date Chrome. If only a shortcut is offered, update Chrome and try again. Tablet restrictions or unsupported browsers can prevent a full install; notification settings and power-saving rules can also affect delivery.
Google’s Android phone and tablet directions ↗Already have an “M” icon or a shortcut?
If that icon opens a browser tab instead of the app, remove that old shortcut and install again using the directions above. A previously saved shortcut may keep its old icon. Re-enable notifications in the new app and send yourself a test alert. If your existing app already opens correctly and receives alerts, you can keep using it.
Installation and notification permission are separate on each device. Internet access is needed for current teaching, calendar updates, and submitting questions.
Good teaching.
A timely reminder.
Get a notification on your phone or tablet when a new episode drops or a published Live Session changes. Choose the updates that matter to you.
Alerts are optional. Installing the app does not turn them on automatically.
